El Molino - Rayon 100% -25 Gram Bobbins Art.00720
25 gram EL MOLINO
Special thread for embroidery. 100% rayon. 300/7 denier. Available in 65 colors
What it is: El Molino, also known as Elmouliné Rayon (ART.720), is a 100% viscose rayon embroidery thread with a brilliant, silk-like luster, constructed at 300 denier / 7 ply. It is made by Presencia Hilaturas in Valencia, Spain, in continuous production since 1930, and supplied as 25g bobbins (10 per pack) in 65 shades on Color Card 4004. The high-sheen filament has mercerized-grade brilliance and excellent light- and wash-fastness for a rayon. Care: hand wash cool or dry-clean, and iron on the reverse at low heat; it is not intended for high-temperature laundering, where cotton is the better choice.
How it is used and use cases: Machine embroidery is the primary use, as it is designed to run on high-speed embroidery machines. Beyond that it excels at decorative top-stitching with a silky sheen on fashion, lingerie and scarves; monogramming and lettering on table linens, towels and gifts; and fringes, tassels and trims, where its fluid drape takes colour beautifully. It is also used for dance and costume work with satin-stitch highlights, and for high-end home décor such as cushion accents, runners and ecclesiastical pieces. It is not suited to heavy laundering or sustained UV exposure, where cotton is recommended instead.
Who uses it: Machine embroidery shops are the core customer, using bobbins daily. It is also chosen by uniform and corporate logo makers for high-volume monogramming and lettering; by dance, theatre and costume makers for brilliant sheen on stage and folkloric work; by luxury bedding and home-décor brands for decorative top-stitching and cushion details; by fashion, lingerie and bridal ateliers for silky drape and colour depth; by ecclesiastical and ceremonial workshops for vestments and banners; and by millinery and accessory makers for trims and tassels.
Why choose it: El Molino is premium rayon, spun in Presencia's own Valencia facility in smaller controlled batches. The 100% viscose rayon gives a silk-like luster that polyester cannot match for decorative and luxury work, with 7-ply stability and 65 carefully curated shades on Color Card 4004. Careful manufacture means bobbins that run clean with no broken filaments and lot-to-lot consistency, so colours pop and stay true. Backed by craftsmanship since 1930, it is the brilliant rayon for embroiderers with higher standards, chosen by those who want a finished piece that outlives the pattern.
